Hello,
My name is Stefan Doychinov. I am 70 years old.
I live and work in Samokov, which is located 60km from the Bulgarian capital Sofia.
I graduated high school with a degree in construction and architecture and completed my higher education in forestry engineering.
I started my creative activities 30 years ago with carving and then painting.
As a follower of the Samokov Art School my work is directed towards designing and making unique carvings for the interior – private homes, restaurants, hotels, hunting lodges, etc. My main focus has always been the design of ceilings with wood carvings. I think that the wood-carved compositions that combine a variety of floral elements create a unique luxury and comfort for the exquisite home. Both the carved sun-shaped rosettes and the icons contribute to the unique beauty of the interior.
All my pieces of art are hand-made in a single original copy.
I love sports mountaineering and nature often inspires my art, which is the reason why I try to represent the magical mountain scenery of Rila, Pirin, the Alps and the Himalayas in paintings. In all of my paintings I try to instill internal dynamics as well as powerful psychologism.
In my work I only use high-quality oil paints.
